Making High Protein Eggnog Ice Cream
The Ninja Creami machine is fantastic at allowing you to make homemade ice cream or sorbet with ingredients that might not work in a traditional ice cream maker.
For instance, I love making apple cinnamon sorbet with apple pie filling, or cherry pie sorbet with cherry pie filling.
You can make pineapple sorbet with canned fruit, or you can make creamy ice cream using pudding mix.
Not only that, but the Ninja Creami ice cream maker is perfect for creating a frozen concoction with higher protein content!
I love making Ninja Creami frozen yogurt, and protein shakes can be transformed into Ninja Creami protein ice cream.
I’ve made Ninja Creami eggnog ice cream that’s pure decadence, but for this particular recipe, I’m going a little lighter by combining eggnog with a FairLife vanilla protein shake.
Personally, I prefer to use store-bought eggnog, simply because it’s easier.
I don’t want to make my own with heavy cream or egg yolks, etc. But if you enjoy making your own, by all means, feel free to use it here!
I added some instant vanilla pudding mix, primarily because it helps to create a nice, creamy texture. It also gives a hint of flavor and sweetness to the mix!
I chose to add a little extra nutmeg to the ice cream base as well, because I wanted plenty of flavor.
The result is a creamy, high-protein eggnog ice cream that’s perfect for the holiday season!
Whether you’re enjoying it as-is, serving it over a slice of pecan pie, or alongside some Christmas cookies, you’re in for a treat!

How to Make Ninja Creami Protein Eggnog Ice Cream
It’s easy to make this treat for the Christmas season.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Vanilla Protein Shake (I used FairLife)
- Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
- Ground Nutmeg
- Eggnog

How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Dissolve the pudding mix. In a small mixing bowl or large liquid measuring cup, whisk together protein shake, vanilla pudding mix, and ground nutmeg until the pudding mix is dissolved.

Add eggnog. Whisk in the eggnog, mixing until it’s incorporated. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and close the lid.

Freeze. Place it on a level surface in your freezer for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the pint into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami machine and secure the outer bowl lid.
Place the bowl apparatus into the Ninja Creami and lock it into place. Press the Lite Ice Cream function and allow the cycle to complete.

Check consistency. Remove the pint from the machine and look at the ice cream’s texture.
If it appears crumbly after the first time of spinning, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button to allow it to cycle again.
Once it’s nice and creamy, it’s ready to serve!
Scoop and sprinkle with a tiny bit of ground nutmeg, if you’d like!

Notes and Adaptations:
- I use storebought eggnog from the grocery store, but you can use homemade eggnog if desired.
- If you need a dairy-free treat, you can use a dairy-free protein shake and an almond milk eggnog (or other non-dairy eggnog drink).
- If you’re enjoying leftovers of this ice cream, I recommend letting it sit out at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly before scooping.
