Every year, when September rolls around, I start craving fall-inspired recipes…particularly apple spice recipes.
If you ask me, apples are the understated hero of fall, often overshadowed by all things pumpkin.
But ever since my family started going to a local apple orchard to pick apples each fall, I’ve been making loads of apple goodies.
But in some parts of the country, it’s still 90 degrees outside, and you may not feel like heating up the oven.
The Ninja Creami is perfect for combining the fall flavors you love, but in a cool and creamy treat.
This Ninja Creami apple butter ice cream is the perfect example of an easy and flavorful dessert you can whip up in a flash.
Apple Butter Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
I’ve made several apple recipes in the Ninja Creami, including Ninja Creami apple pie ice cream and Ninja Creami cinnamon apple sorbet.
Those are both deliciously simple to make, and they’re favorites in my house.
But I recently wanted to try making an ice cream that uses apple butter–especially because apple butter already has the perfect blend of spices.
The apple butter gave the ice cream a nice depth of flavor, so I’m adding this one to my list of favorite Ninja Creami Thanksgiving recipes!
How to Make Ninja Creami Apple Butter Ice Cream
It’s easy to make this simple dessert for fall.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Apple butter (homemade or store bought)
- Milk
- Sugar-free instant vanilla pudding mix
- Heavy cream
How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Begin mixing the base. In a small mixing bowl or a large liquid measuring cup, combine the apple butter, milk, and instant pudding mix.
Use an immersion blender to make sure everything gets blended together until smooth.
Make it creamy. Next, you’ll add the heavy cream and stir to incorporate.
Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.
Freeze. Close the lid on the pint container and transfer it to the freezer, placing it on a level surface.
Let the mixture freeze for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid.
Place it into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, then secure the outer bowl lid into place.
Transfer the outer bowl to the Ninja Creami machine, locking it into position. Press the Lite Ice Cream button and allow the cycle to complete.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes and Adaptations:
- If the ice cream appears crumbly, insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button to cycle it again. If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon or two of milk to the ice cream, then Re-spin again.
- Because apple butter provides most of the flavor for this recipe, I recommend using a variety that you like the taste of! I often make my own, but you can use storebought instead.
- If you need to make this recipe dairy-free, you can use a nondairy milk and canned coconut cream instead of regular milk and heavy cream.
- I think this ice cream would be delicious served over a slice of pecan pie!
