Banana Pudding Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
To make sure this banana pudding ice cream had the flavor I wanted, I decided to use real bananas and banana pudding mix.
This combination gives just the right amount of sweetness!
Not only that, but the pudding mix helps to act as a binder, giving the ice cream a smooth and creamy texture.
I added some miniature vanilla wafers, because banana pudding is never complete without those! But you could leave them out if you prefer to.

How to Make Ninja Creami Banana Ice Cream with Pudding Mix
It’s really easy to make this delicious treat.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Ripe banana
- Milk
- Instant banana pudding mix
- Vanilla extract
- Heavy cream
- Vanilla wafers
How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Blend the base. To start, you’ll combine a sliced ripe banana with some milk, instant pudding mix, and vanilla extract.
Use an immersion blender to blend them together until smooth.
Add remaining ingredients. Then, add in the heavy cream and stir to incorporate.
Freeze. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and close its lid.
Transfer the container to a level surface in your freezer, freezing for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off its lid.
Place the pint into the outer bowl of the machine, locking the outer bowl lid into place.
Secure the outer bowl in the machine, then press the Ice Cream button. Allow the cycle to complete.
Re-spin if needed. Check the consistency of the ice cream. If it looks kind of crumbly after the first spin, pop it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button.
If it’s still kind of powdery after that, add a tablespoon of milk to the ice cream and Re-spin again.
It will be nice and creamy once it’s ready!
Add vanilla wafers. If you’d like to add vanilla wafers as a mix-in, create a hole in the middle of the ice cream that extends to the bottom of the pint.
Add some crushed or chopped vanilla wafers, then use the Mix-in cycle to incorporate them.
Alternatively, you can use the cookies as garnish for individual servings.
Notes and Adaptations:
- Vanilla wafers are an optional addition, but I think they help give it more authentic banana pudding vibes!
- For a dairy-free version, you can use a nondairy milk, and use canned coconut cream instead of heavy cream. An immersion blender will be useful in blending everything until smooth.
