In fact, this Ninja Creami Coca Cola ice cream basically tastes like a Coke float, but in ice cream form. And it’s so tasty!
As I’ve been experimenting with the countless varieties of frozen desserts you can make in the Ninja Creami, I knew I wanted to try using soda pop in the machine.
The result was a delicious ice cream that’s creamy, not too sweet, with just the right amount of Coke flavor!
It’s one of the best Ninja Creami recipes, and once you give it a try, you’ll see why.
How to Use Soda in the Ninja Creami Machine
You might be wondering, can you even use soda in the Ninja Creami?
Because we’ve all heard the cautionary tales about soda cans bursting in the freezer.
So I did a little bit of research about why soda expands during freezing, in hopes that I could prevent my freezer from being overtaken by a sticky, fizzy mess.
One of the keys is to use semi-flat soda pop.
It doesn’t have to be completely flat, but I do try to get out as much of the carbonation as possible.
Then, I make sure to leave the lid partially open on the pint container, just in case additional bubbles need to escape while freezing.
I’ve done this multiple times now, and it always works great!

Recipe For Coca Cola Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
It’s really easy to make this creamy, frosty treat.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Coca-Cola (or other similar soda, such as Pepsi, RC cola, etc.)
- Dream Whip mix
How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Flatten the soda. To start, you’ll want to release some of the carbonation from the soda.
You can let it sit out, open, until it’s flattened. But that takes a while.
So instead, I prefer to stir the soda, gently but constantly, which helps to bring the bubbles to the surface, where they pop.
Continue doing this until fewer and fewer bubbles are forming as you stir. Then give it a taste to make sure it’s partially flat.
Add the packet of Dream Whip mix to the soda.
Finish the base. Stir to combine the Dream Whip with the soda. The soda will most likely continue to foam as you stir, which is fine!
If needed, skim the foam off the surface of the soda and discard.
Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.
Freeze. Place the lid on the container, keeping it partially open (don’t seal it completely).
Transfer the container to a level surface in your freezer for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid.
Place the pint container into the Ninja Creami machine’s outer bowl and lock the outer bowl lid into place.
Secure the outer bowl in the machine, then press the Lite Ice Cream button. Allow the cycle to complete.
Check consistency. Remove the ice cream from the machine and check its consistency.
If it looks kind of icy or powdery, you can insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button to cycle it again.
If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of water (or Coke) and Re-spin again.
Once it’s nice and creamy, it’s ready to serve!
Notes and Adaptations:
- I have only tested this recipe with regular Coke. I wouldn’t recommend using diet Coke or Coke Zero, because Dream Whip mix also has very little sugar in it and no fat. So no sugar and no fat could cause your machine to be damaged.
- Dream Whip is a dry mix commonly used to make whipped topping. It’s sold in the grocery store (in the baking aisle). It’s usually available in boxes of 2 or 4 packets, so you’ll have extra for a future batch.

Ninja Creami Coca Cola Ice Cream
This easy Coca Cola ice cream tastes like a Coke float, and it's super simple to make in the Ninja Creami!
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups regular Coca Cola (*see recipe notes below)
- 1 packet Dream Whip mix
Instructions
- Pour soda into a large liquid measuring cup. Stir with a spoon, gently but constantly, allowing bubbles of carbonation to surface and pop. As you stir, the bubbles will become less frequent. Continue stirring until soda is semi-flat.
- Add dry contents of Dream Whip mix packet to the soda, stirring to combine. The mixture may produce foam, which is fine. Continue stirring to dissolve, skimming off any remaining foam if needed.
- Pour mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Loosely close the lid, leaving it partially open so any additional gas can escape while freezing.
- Transfer pint container to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
- Remove pint from freezer and take off lid. Place container in the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, securing the outer bowl lid. Place bowl apparatus in the Ninja Creami machine, locking it into place. Press the Lite Ice Cream button and allow the cycle to complete.
- Remove ice cream from the machine and check its consistency. If the texture appears icy or powdery, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button. If it's still crumbly afterward, you can add a tablespoon of water (or Coke) and Re-spin once more.
- Serve and enjoy!
