Higher Protein Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
To make this easy ice cream, I started with a vanilla protein shake.
I used a FairLife shake, but you can use whatever brand you prefer!
To give it plenty of flavor and a nice, creamy texture, I used real pumpkin puree as well as some instant pumpkin spice pudding mix.
Now, as far as I can tell, this Jell-O pudding mix is only available in stores during the fall seasons.
But, you can always get it here on Amazon if you can’t find it locally!
By using the pudding mix, you don’t have to add any extra sugar or spices, so it makes it really easy.

How to Make 3-Ingredient Ninja Creami Pumpkin Protein Ice Cream
It’s really simple to whip up a batch of this fall-flavored treat.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Vanilla protein shake (I used FairLife)
- Canned pumpkin puree
- Jell-O instant pumpkin spice pudding mix
How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Mix the base. In a small bowl or large liquid measuring cup, combine all ingredients.
Whisk well or use an immersion blender to mix them together.
Freeze. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and pop the lid on it.
Place it on a level surface in your freezer for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid, then place it in the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami.
Lock the outer bowl’s lid into place and transfer the bowl to the Ninja Creami machine.
Press the Lite Ice Cream button and allow the cycle to finish.
Re-Spin if needed. Remove the ice cream and take a look at it.
If it looks kind of powdery or crumbly, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button.
If it’s still crumbly afterward, add a tablespoon of protein shake, milk, or water to the ice cream, then Re-spin once more.
It should be nice and creamy after that!
Notes and Adaptations:
- If you can’t find the pudding mix in your local grocery store, you can order it from Amazon.
- To enjoy leftovers of this ice cream, allow the pint to sit out at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes to soften, or remove the lid from the pint and microwave it for about 30-45 seconds to soften.

Instructions

- Lock the outer bowl into place in the Ninja Creami, then select the Lite Ice Cream button. Allow the cycle to complete.
- Remove the pint from the machine and check its texture. If it looks powdery or crumbly, insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button to cycle it again. If it's still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of liquid (protein shake, milk, or water), then Re-spin once more. It should be nice and creamy after that!
