Making Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
To make the ice cream base for strawberry ice cream, I prefer to use basic ingredients, because I’m likely to have those on hand whenever the craving strikes!
To start, I like to cook the strawberries with some sugar first. This helps to bring out the natural sweetness and enhance the flavor.
Adding the strawberries and their juices to some heavy cream and whole milk really brings out the richness and creates a creamy texture we love.
You don’t even need any cream cheese for this sweet treat.
The result of this easy recipe is a pale pink, dreamy strawberries and cream ice cream that will satisfy your sweet tooth in a flash.
And the great thing about the Ninja Creami is that everyone in the family can have their own pint of ice cream, if we want to try different flavors!

How to Make this Ninja Creami Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe
It’s easier than you think to whip up a batch of this ice cream in your Ninja Creami machine.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Fresh strawberries
- Granulated sugar
- Heavy whipping cream
- Whole milk
How to Make it:
Cook strawberries. In a small saucepan, combine chopped strawberries and granulated sugar, stirring to combine.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for a few minutes, until juices are released and begin to thicken, and the strawberries soften.
The mixture will reduce down to approximately 1/2 cup of strawberries and syrup.
Combine and blend. Transfer the strawberry mixture to a small bowl or glass measuring cup.
Let cool for a few minutes, then add the whipping cream and milk
Use an immersion blender just enough to lightly blend everything together.
Freeze. Transfer the mixture to a Ninja Creami pint, being careful not to exceed the max fill line.
Place the lid on the pint container and transfer to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
Process. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the pint into the outer bowl apparatus and lock the outer bowl lid into place.
Place bowl assembly into the Ninja Creami ice cream maker and lock into place.
Use the Ice Cream button to process the pint, which will take about 2 minutes.
Re-Spin, if needed. Once complete, remove bowl from the machine and check the consistency.
If it’s a little crumbly after the first spin, place it back into the machine and use the Re-spin function to process again.
If it’s still crumbly after that, you can add a tablespoon of milk and re-spin again, which should do the trick.
Notes and Adaptations:
- Because there are so few ingredients in this recipe, the quality of your strawberries matters. Be sure to choose strawberries that are nice and ripe!
- Feel free to add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste if you want a hint of vanilla flavor.
- Want to make this as a dairy-free ice cream? You can try using unsweetened canned coconut cream (not regular coconut milk) instead of heavy cream and unsweetened almond milk or oat milk instead of regular milk.
- I haven’t tested this recipe with frozen strawberries, but I suspect it would work fine. It will just take a little bit longer for the strawberries to soften during the cooking process.
- If you’re enjoying leftovers of this ice cream, I’ve found that you’ll get best results if you let the container sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes before serving. If you’re in a hurry, you can put it through the re-spin cycle in your Ninja Creami (just be sure to smooth the top out before freezing).
- Want to add some chocolate chips? After processing the ice cream, create a well in the center of your pint that’s about a half inch wide and extends to the bottom of the pint. Add some chocolate chips to that well and place bowl assembly into the machine, then select the Mix-in button on your Ninja Creami machine.
