You know how you want to make Valentine’s Day feel special, but you don’t have a lot of time to spend making fancy food?
I love incorporating shortcut recipes into my holiday planning, because it’s an easy way to pull in some delicious and festive treats without running myself into the ground.
That’s why I am always looking for ways to use cake mixes and brownie mixes to simplify life.
These Valentine’s Day Oreo brownies fit the bill perfectly, because they use a brownie mix and Oreo cookies, plus some holiday sprinkles.
The result is an amazingly decadent treat the whole family will enjoy!

Valentine Brownies with Oreos
For this recipe, I used a Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownie mix. It’s my absolute favorite brownie mix, but you can use any variety you prefer.
You can even make homemade brownies if you don’t have a mix on hand.
Then you add in some chopped Oreo cookies (I was able to find some with red filling, but you can use plain white if needed) and colorful sprinkles for a fun effect.
These are rich and delicious, so you can cut them into small squares and still be satisfied.
Add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream if you’d like! Or bring them to your child’s class party at school for a crowd-pleasing dessert.

(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Mix the brownie batter. In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, water, oil, and egg. Mix until incorporated well.

Add mix-ins. Add in some chopped Oreo cookies and some Valentine themed sprinkles, mixing to combine.

Bake. Spread the batter into a greased baking dish, then sprinkle with remaining cookie pieces and sprinkles.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool. Remove the brownies from the oven, then allow the brownies to cool before serving.
For easiest slicing, let the brownies cool completely.
But if you want to enjoy these warm with a scoop of ice cream, we won’t blame you! 🙂 They’ll just be softer and may fall apart a little.

Notes and Adaptations:
- I used a Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownie mix. The amounts of oil, water, and egg were based on the package instructions. If you’re using a different mix, use the package instructions for the amount of oil, water, and eggs.
- If you can find Oreos with red icing in them, they make a festive addition. If not, just use regular Oreos–you’ll get plenty of color from your sprinkles.
