There’s something about getting a fancy warm drink at a coffee shop that brightens your day.
But the reality is, those drinks can be quite expensive and overpriced. Like many things, it’s much less expensive to make your own specialty latte at home!
We’re going to show you just how easy it is to make an Almond Joy latte, modeled after your favorite candy bar, including options and adjustments you can make to suit your own taste.
Whether you want an iced Almond Joy latte or prefer a steaming warm cup, making your own at home is an easy way to satisfy your sweet tooth without spending an arm and a leg on yummy drinks at coffee bars.
Almond Joy Latte – Hot or Iced Coffee
One of the great things about making your own drinks at home is that you can customize it according to your liking.
Because an Almond Joy candy bar contains coconut and almond, those are the primary flavors here.
It also includes chocolate, so adding some chocolate sauce to the Almond Joy coffee is an optional (but tasty!) garnish.
We used coconut milk for our latte, but almond milk or regular dairy milk is fine, too, since they don’t affect the flavor that much.
How to Make an Almond Joy Latte
It’s really easy to whip up a special treat using just a few ingredients!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Espresso or coffee
- Coconut milk (or other milk of choice)
- Coconut syrup
- Almond syrup or vanilla syrup
- Optional: Ice cubes
- For garnish: whipped cream, chocolate syrup, coconut flakes and chopped Almond Joy candy bars
How to Make It:
Add coconut milk. First, you’ll add your milk to glasses or mugs.
Add espresso or coffee. Next, you’ll combine your brewed espresso or coffee with the milk.
Add syrups. Stir in the syrups, mixing to combine. If desired, add ice.
Last, this. Last, you’ll garnish your drink as desired. Whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, some coconut flakes, or chopped Almond Joy candy bars are all great options!
Notes and Adaptations:
- For more coconut flavor, we recommend using coconut espresso pods, coconut K-cups, or coconut flavored coffee.
- We used Torani brand syrups, which can typically be found in the coffee aisle of most grocery stores.
- The amount of coconut milk will depend on the size of the mug/glass you use and whether you’re using espresso or coffee. If using coffee, start with 1/4 cup and add more from there. if using espresso, start with 1/2 cup and add more if needed.
- Coconut milk can be found in the refrigerated section in the milk or alternative milk section. We used Silk brand unsweetened coconut milk in this recipe. You can also use almond milk or regular dairy milk.
Recommended Supplies:
